Say goodbye to plastic and say hello to Floraa!
Every year, Canadians throw away 3 million tons of plastic waste, only 9% of which is recycled, meaning the vast majority of plastics end up in landfills and about 29,000 tons finds its way into our natural environment.
How does Floraa help you fix this issue?
Since plastic shampoo bottles are big and bulky and use way too much plastic, on the other hand, shampoo bars have minimal packaging, a simple paper wrap, a raffia string, and sometimes, they come bare! Not just that but with bar shampoos take up way less space than your average plastic shampoo bottle.
Here’s 5 reasons why bar shampoo is better then shampoo in a plastic bottle:
- Less waste and no plastic
- Bars are more economical
- More convenient for travel
- Takes up way less space
- Lasts longer
Who is Floraa?
Floraa came to life because we are a group of high school students with one goal in mind: minimize the use of plastic shampoo bottles and minimize plastic going into our landfill.
How long does it take for hair to adjust to a shampoo bar?
Cleaning without harsh detergents will cause your scalp to rebalance its oil production. Many say the transition period lasts around 2-4 weeks. REMEMBER: your scalp will take time to rebalance its oil production.
How to store shampoo bars?
If you let your bar sit in water for too long, it will eventually turn into a wet, soggy mess. For this reason, we strongly recommend storing your shampoo bar in a cool, dry place to extend the lifespan of your bar. By keeping your bar dry between uses, you can maximize its lifespan and get more bang for your buck.
